Time: 10am-noon/ 2 hours of Professional Development

First, officers for 2011-2012 will be voted on---nominations are being collected for President, First VP, Second VP and Secretary/Treasurer

Drawing Animal and Human Anatomy and Physiology using Geometric warm-up and starting points. This will be a direct instruction workshop, focusing on proportion, scale, and value. Randall Griffith will present this experience that his students LOVE!

Bring your sketchbook, graphite pencils, and an eraser!
Bring a food tray for a Pot-luck final meeting treat!

Teresa Foster presented Oil Paintstick techniques at our first meeting of the school year. We developed still life artwork with this slick media under Teresa's instruction. It was an inspirational workshop.

Shelly Hye lead AENCT Members in the workshop---Meaning in the Making
In this hands-on workshop we discussed ways to create personal meaning in art-making experiences. We will constructed a shallow box that also includes an in-set shadow box for a small memento or other found object with personal or symbolic meaning.

Rebecca Martin from the Sid Richardson Museum lead a discussion responding to a Charles M.Russell watercolor painting set in the prairie landscape. Participants will explored the local prairie land were led by artist/author Soon Warren in developing watercolor techniques.

Participants swapped favorite lesson plan from conference and a holiday exchange gift that an art teacher loves.

AENCT Officers lead a collaborative drawing day. 9 art educators brought a student to this meeting and 6 TCU Art education majors at TCU attended this event. What a great turn out! Each participant left with a collaborative “Jacobs Ladder” book structure.
Announced at this meeting: TAEA Officer Nominations are due February 15 and the TAEA 2011 Conference Proposals are online—prepare YOUR conference session! Presenting will help you make your case to attain district funding to attend this upcoming convention!
